Volunteers Needed for Road Closure Marshals
We need your help! Our evening carnival processions are in urgent need of volunteers to marshal the road closures.
What Does a Road Closure Volunteer Do? As a road closure volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of the event. Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending a volunteer briefing at 6:00 PM.
- Stationing at a designated location from 7:00 PM to approximately 10:00 PM.
- Assisting drivers with diversion routes.
- Ensuring road closure barriers remain in place until the carnival concludes.
Most of our locations offer a fantastic view of the carnival, so you’ll be right in the heart of the action! Plus, you’ll get to wear a hi-vis jacket and be part of our town’s oldest and most cherished tradition, now in its 197th year.
You’re Not Alone! We pair volunteers, with two people stationed at each barrier. You’ll also have the support of an area marshal, and we’ll provide full instructions during the briefing.
